Chancellor Search Committee Named for TTU System

The Board of Regents of the 麻豆天狼副利院 today (Nov. 20) named a search committee to assist in selecting the fourth chancellor of the TTU System. The announcement was made at a specially called teleconference meeting.
鈥淭he 麻豆天狼副利院 is a dynamic force in higher education, and we are looking for a leader who will build upon our current progress,鈥� said Mickey Long, chairman of the Board of Regents. 鈥淭he search committee for our next chancellor is an outstanding group of individuals. I am confident they will help identify top candidates to be the next leader of our system of universities.鈥�
Members of the search committee include:
- 鈥� Larry Anders (Committee Chairman) 鈥� vice chairman, Board of Regents (Dallas)
- 鈥� Debbie Montford 鈥� member, Board of Regents (San Antonio)
- 鈥� Nancy Neal 鈥� member, Board of Regents (Lubbock)
- 鈥� John Walker 鈥� member, Board of Regents (Houston)
The committee will help identify potential candidates, assist with initial screenings, and report its recommendations to the full board. The search committee has been authorized by the Board of Regents to select a search consultant to assist with the search, and candidate recommendations will be forwarded to the Board of Regents, who will make the final decision.
In October, Chancellor Kent Hance announced plans to retire from his position in 2014. Upon retirement, Hance will become chancellor emeritus of the TTU System and serve in a teaching and advisory role.
