TTU System Regents to Meet August 6-7
Regents will have a two-day meeting on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock.

The Â鶹ÌìÀǸ±ÀûÔº will meet Thursday and Friday (August 6-7) in Lubbock. The meeting will take place in the Ballroom (Room 118) in the Texas Tech University Student Union Building (15th Street and Akron Avenue).
Below are highlights of the topics and items to be discussed at the upcoming meeting, including estimated times with periodic recesses. Thursday, August 6
9:55 a.m. – Swearing-in of newly appointed student regent
10:00 a.m. – Call to Order; Meeting of the Board
10:05 a.m. – Executive Session
11:15 a.m. – Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
12:00 p.m. – Audit Committee
1:30 p.m. – Facilities Committee
- Approve establishment of Stage I design budgets for multiple capital projects, which
will be largely supported through Legislative appropriation of tuition revenue bonds.
- College of Health and Human Sciences building at Angelo State University.
- Experimental Sciences Building II at Texas Tech University.
- North Expansion building and West Expansion addition on the Lubbock campus, Permian Basin Academic Facility on the Odessa campus and the Panhandle Clinical Simulation Center on the Amarillo campus at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
- Medical Science Building II at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
3:00 p.m. – Finance and Administration Committee
- Approve FY 2016 operating budgets for the Â鶹ÌìÀǸ±ÀûÔº Administration, Texas Tech University, Angelo State University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
- Report on differential tuition at Texas Tech University.
3:45 p.m. – Academic, Clinical and Student Affairs Committee
- Approve appointments with tenure and conferrals of emeritus status at Texas Tech University, Angelo State University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
- Approve concept for the establishment of an off-campus instructional site in San Jose, Costa Rica.
- Approve two dual degree programs—a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences/Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Biotechnology/Master of Business Administration—between the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
- Approve the establishment of the Department of Otolaryngology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Following the adjournment of the Academic, Clinical and Student Affairs Committee, the Board will recess no later than approximately 5 p.m.
